June - the month of warmth. The month that everyone seems to be a bit brighter, joyful & warm (at least here in the East Coast!) June is your month to focus on happiness and optimism. Take advantage of when the sun is shining for your full potential of creativity & bliss.

June Color of the Month - Lemon
For many people, yellow is seen as a bright and cheerful color. The color of sunflowers, the sun, fruits & nature. Color Psychology says that it “is the brightest color of the visible spectrum, and is the most noticeable of all colors by the human eye”. During this month, try to be as bright & visible as the color yellow. Compliment others, help each other out, smile at strangers! And use this joyfulness in reaching your goals. A positive mindset, in my opinion, is 100 times easier to achieve goals, no matter how difficult. It gives you a clear mind to organize the steps needed to succeed and changes your attitude towards "I can."
Yellow is also an energetic color. Much like the month of June, where summer plans are starting and we can seem to have a chaotic schedule. Try to use this energy to create enthusiasm for life and awaken greater confidence and optimism. Take a step back and enjoy these plans, the people involved and change your mindset of an opportunity you "get to do" not "have to do".
From a color psychology perspective, yellow stimulates our mental faculties; it activates the left or analytical brain. This month try some new habits that could positively change the way you feel!
Top 3 Positive Habits To Change Your Life This June:
Read Books/Listen To Audiobooks - There are so many positive reasons to read books or listen to audiobooks every day. From the unlimited amount of knowledge books have, to the relaxation & self care that reading gives you. Here are my current favorites this year that I recommend: - Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert - My Squirrel Days by Ellie Kemper *Audiobook - The Untethered Soul: The Journey Beyond Yourself by Michael Alan Singer - Yes Please by Amy Poehler *Audiobook - Present Over Perfect: Leaving Behind Frantic for a Simpler, More Soulful Way of Living by Shauna Niequist
Wake Up Grateful - The first and most important part of my morning routine! Because starting the day grateful will lead to a more joyful experience throughout your work & life at home. Here are a few ways to practice being grateful in the morning: - Journal - Mediate - Go Outside - Read a spiritual or inspirational book (I have the Bible app, that I recommend reading plans.)
Take Time To Stretch - Right now, relax your shoulders. If you are on your computer or phone, you are most likely tense. Stretching helps me stay positive and relaxed. It also helps flexibility. My top ways to include stretching in my day: - Practice yoga - Take 10 minute breaks throughout your day to stretch and relax yourself - Lift your arms in the air, touch your toes and twist your torso before going to sleep.
Try to Read, Practice Gratitude & Stretch these next upcoming weeks and take note of the changes. These could be changes in your mood, health & even happiness. And of course, just keep smiling and try to find joyful moments everyday.
